Index – National – Four applicants for Chain Bridge renovation

[ad_1]

An important milestone has been reached in the public procurement procedure for the construction of the Chain Bridge, BKK writes in a press release on Tuesday. During the last almost a month, fourteen economic operators have expressed their interest in the call for tenders, which was published on August 11, four of which have submitted applications.

No further information on the four candidates can be provided at this stage of the recruitment procedure.

– states the BKK.

Applicant operators were not yet required to submit an offer at this stage of the offer. As the next step in the procedure, the BKK will examine whether the applications submitted meet the requirements established in the call for expressions of interest. Based on this, a decision is made on which companies will be invited to bid.

The aim of the Budapest City Council and the Budapest Transport Center is to involve as many actors as possible in public procurement. The selected economic operators will be invited after the decision of the BKK Board of Directors, scheduled for the first half of October at the latest. If, at the end of the negotiations, favorable offers are received and the Government of Hungary also provides the promised support, BKK can enter into a contract with the future contractor in February 2021, which can start the renovation works in March. The symbol of Hungary, the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, will be reborn in 2023.
