Viktor Orbán did not see György Soros as a good thing for the first time in his plan, but in a 2012 EU study.

The prime minister accidentally revealed the source of the anti-migrant propaganda in an interview on Friday morning with public radio. Before being crushed by the coronavirus, the government had been talking for years about nothing more than migration pressures, threats, and the Soros Plan. Now it turns out what the starting point of the whole thing is.

Speaking of the situation in Europe and the world economy, the Prime Minister mentioned in passing that in 2012 he read a study from one of the EU’s research institutes, which stated that migration is a good thing and should be supported.

The migration crisis broke out in 2015, so I knew in 2015 where to go, which desk drawer is the study in which the people of Brussels described that what is happening now is good.

Orbán said, then continued his original line of thought.

I wanted to take the initiative

Orbán now trimmed the comment from Brussels criticizing the border closure due to the epidemic on Kossuth Radio with the example of migration:

Self-confidence is important in politics, Brussels can say what it wants and then in a few days they will do what we do, as has happened in immigration policy.

Orbán wanted to be at the forefront at that moment: in a statement issued after the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015, the European man, his freedom and his way of life were under attack, so he needed new powers of defending. Shortly after, and after the anti-terrorist demonstration in Paris, he announced

Economic immigration is bad, so Hungary cannot provide asylum to those who leave their country for economic reasons.

As he himself said, he was confident that a calm and calm analysis of events would also lead European leaders and Brussels in the direction of a strict policy aimed at restricting immigration to win civil rights in Europe.

According to Orban, he’s just saying what Europe is ashamed of

For years, Viktor Orbán believes he has a better understanding than Western European politicians of what is causing the EU crisis and a better understanding of European public opinion, including fears about immigrants. In fact, even before the assassination of Paris, xenophobia intensified in Europe.

Orbán insisted on his argument, rejecting economic immigration and linking migration to terrorism in turn. This was also the case when he argued against a mandatory allotment fee. In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in February 2015, he spoke that the coexistence of cultures is a huge task and a risk, especially when it comes to Islam and Christianity. And while he respects that France and Germany are on a different path, he rightly hopes that they will respect the Hungarian decision. “We don’t want a multicultural society,” Orbán said. It considered the EU legislation on asylum to be lax, unreasonable and abusive.

In the interview, he also spoke about György Soros, but not in relation to migration, but to the Hungarian non-governmental organizations he supported. Although in September 2015 György Soros had already written an article on the issue of refugees (which Máté Kocsis pointed to as a “Soros Plan” in a Fidesz forum in 2018), which said that

the EU should welcome one million immigrants a year, who would then be supported by the countries during the first two years,

but in his presentation a month later, Orbán still did not mention it. In his presentation at the conference of the Association of Christian Intellectuals in 2015, he spoke in general about the threat to nation-states and the eradication of Christianity on ethnic grounds, the betrayal of Europe.

Europe has been betrayed and if we do not defend it, this Europe will be taken from us.

He explained that “this Europe will no longer be a Europe of European citizens, but a well-organized Europe, if we now think of the Soros Foundation, the idea is not unfounded, a well-organized activist with a lot of money who thinks beyond the states- nation”. fulfills an elected leader’s dream of onion frosting. “

They searched for the perfect buzzword for a long time

During the ongoing propaganda against refugees, we had to wait two years for Orbán’s think tank to come up with the most perfect term, the “Soros Plan”, and to merge the face of György Soros with the threat to our country.

The term Soros Plan was first included in a Fidesz-KDNP announcement on July 3, 2017. There was so much in it: they agree that the dangers of the Soros plan should be pointed out (all based on a conference of press of László Varju, a DK politician), and then, 10 days later, Fidesz Vice President Szilárd Németh again mentioned that the plan included an immigration organizer. establishment of an agency.

With all this, as it turned out, they were embedded in Viktor Orbán’s speech in Tusványos on July 22, where the Prime Minister bluntly stated that

there is a serial plan. It consists of four points.

He also listed:

  • 1 million immigrants from the Muslim world must be brought in every year,
  • everyone should receive 4.5 million euros upon arrival,
  • Incoming migrants must be distributed among European countries through a mandatory mechanism,
  • A European immigration agency should be created to deprive nation states of decision-making rights on migration and raise them to the level of Brussels.

This is Soros’s plan, Orbán repeated at the end. At least according to his interpretation, since the prime minister slipped on several points, in addition, when the speech was delivered, Soros had already moved away from his original 2015 opinion and already had another essay that he had written in 2016.

Pintér could not prove that Soros was a danger

It did not matter, the government propaganda was connected, a national consultation was launched on the “Soros Plan”, the questions of which were refuted in detail by György Soros, claiming that the authorities were spreading lies about him.

Serial: power spreads lies

Point by point, György Soros refutes what the Hungarian government calls the Soros Plan. The American billionaire of Hungarian descent examined the Hungarian national consultation questions on his own website, none of which he believes to be true.

Meanwhile, the government ordered Interior Minister Sándor Pintér to explain to the government what dangers György Soros poses to the country. Pintér also had to report on this in a closed session before the National Security Committee of the National Assembly. He himself did not pronounce himself later, only from the interpretation of the deputies it was possible to know what happened.

Zsolt Molnár, a socialist, and Bernadett Szél, then a member of the LMP, also affirmed when asked if there was any threat to national security in the country. Soros, the Interior Minister’s reply, revealed no. According to Szilárd Németh, a member of the Fidesz committee, this is all a lie, but it is Index according to information at the time, Pintér at the meeting

gave a diplomatic response to the “serial threat” question,

he said roughly as he told the press a few days before being asked about the “serial threat” after an anti-migration forum. In his performance, Pintér never uttered György Soros’s name, although behind him it flourished in the projector that György Soros’s plan was dangerous. He told reporters that he knew everyone he was talking about, either

He does not know if György Soros is a danger, but the ideas he preaches are not in line with Hungarian ideas and legislation. An open society, a society without borders, is not accepted at the moment, it is futuristic.

In any case, he prepared the file for the government, which was discussed by the cabinet in November 2017 and then encrypted for 10 years for reasons of state secrecy. Pintér also faced government propaganda in 2018: Introducing the Stop Soros package, he said in response to a question.

György Soros does not carry out any activities in support of illegal immigration, so he is not yet subject to immigration detention.

(In other words, they are not banned in the country, as the government press pressed at the time.) Zoltán Kovács, a government spokesman, added that

The system is expected to be self-reported and Soros has so far not admitted that he supports illegal migration.

The migration plan has become obsolete, but the brand has worked, as Viktor Orbán discovered György Soros’s second plan in April, which, according to his interpretation, will push Europe into debt slavery.

Would Soros’s new miracle weapon bring debt slavery?

György Soros came up with a very old and unusual plan to help the EU. The idea of perpetual annuity bonds should even get used to the market, he says, so little used. The proposal is complicated enough that each politician can explain what they are talking about, although if we look closely at the details, it turns out that Europe could do well, even if the plan does not fail in some Member States.

The perpetual link was out of the question in the EU, so Orban will likely have to come up with a third Soros plan to withdraw the propaganda until the 2022 elections.
