Index – National – Police officer kept man alive until ambulance arrived

The events that evoke the hitherto popular Emergency series took place in the Tevel settlement in Tolna County, police.hu reported. Police Chief Sergeant Ferenc Dékány, regional representative of the Bonyhád Police Headquarters, on September 1, 2020, shortly after 5 p.m., registered a local resident in the center of Tevel village. The 26-year-old suddenly began to drown and soon after, his life functions ceased.

The chief sergeant knew immediately what he was doing in such a situation and began resuscitation. Until the arrival of the ambulances notified in the meantime, Ferenc Dékány continued to give the man artificial respiration. Rescue officers took the patient away from the district commissioner, who managed to stabilize his condition and eventually took him to the hospital by helicopter.
