The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 365 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 6,622. There were 3 elderly patients who died, bringing the number of deaths to 619, and 3,903 have already recovered. The number of actively infected people is 2,100. 45% of the actively infected, 60% of the dead and 42% of those recovered are from Budapest. 98 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, 7 of whom are on ventilators.
The second wave of the epidemic is being felt in Europe, the number of infections increases, the entry conditions from the outside will be hardened again to stop the introduction of the virus. According to the Statutes, foreign citizens cannot enter the territory of Hungary, and Hungarian citizens returning from abroad are required to have an official home quarantine of 14 days.
The responsibilities of parents and teachers are paramount in relation to the school year; a sick and symptomatic child should not be able to go to school or kindergarten now. The goal is for schools to run smoothly and traditional education to flow. Schools have received epidemiological recommendations, which can be complemented with additional measures in their respective areas of competence.
As the data on new infections warn, the epidemic is not over, the number of active infections is increasing again, so discipline, entry restrictions and adherence to general hygiene rules remain very important. We will continue to avoid places where there are many indoors, preferably maintaining a social distance, washing our hands frequently and thoroughly, wearing the mask in stores and on public transport. Anyone who has been ordered to have an official home quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply. Anyone with symptoms should not go into the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone. By adhering to all of this, we can prevent the spread of infection and the introduction of additional restrictive measures.
