Parti Lajos Nagy started by more than 160 writers, including Péter Nádas, György Dragomán, Virág Erdős, Andrea Tompa and Paul Zavada – protest against the reorganization of the University of Theater and Cinematographic Arts and expresses its solidarity with the senate of the university, professors and students – can be read on the litera.hu portal.

Students from the University of Theater and Motion Picture Arts set up a barricade after Monday night’s demonstration, occupied the university building and did not want to let in new leaders. They feel that everything is collapsing around them, and the instructors have no idea what to talk about with the Vidnyánszky after the people of the institution were humiliated, several teachers and leaders canceled and announced their departure. The university has a new board of directors, its director Attila Vidnyánszky, two of the five members are Mol leaders, but none of the university’s Senate nominees have joined the board. The powers of the new board of directors are extremely broad. Vidnyánszky sees the situation differently.

The writer and poet Lajos Parti Nagy – as he writes: in his deep and helpless indignation – released the following letter, which was joined by 18 Hungarian writers, writers, translators and artists on September 1, 2020 at 6pm.

“We, the undersigned Hungarian writers, literary translators, literary writers and artists, are the most energetic protest against the vile and despicable defamation of the University of Theater and Film Arts, and we stand in solidarity with the resigned Senate, professors and students of University”.
