According to the new maintainer of the university, the resigned leaders should continue their work, especially in the epidemic situation.

The resignation of the leaders of the University of Cinematographic Arts and Theater (SZFE) by the Theater and Cinematographic Arts Foundation, which has maintained the institution since Tuesday, described the resignation of the leaders of the University of Cinematographic Arts and Theater as unacceptable and irresponsible . According to them, with this measure, university leaders have disappointed their students and staff.

SZFE’s legal position is clear and unambiguous, the foundation works in accordance with applicable legislation and strongly invites all SZFE employees and students to do the same.

– read in the Communication. As they write, university leaders must ensure the start of education, the safe operation of buildings, infrastructure and, especially in the current epidemic situation, the health of students and workers. It is the duty and responsibility of the leaders of the SZFE to continue their work and ensure the legal and safe operation of the university.

The communication also indicates that the autonomy of the SZFE guaranteed in the Basic Law has not been violated. At the same time, neither the resigned leadership, nor the many resigned professors, nor the students occupying the university agree with this. They complain that the change in model has deprived the university leadership of all its powers. These were received by the Board of the Maintenance Foundation and its Supervisory Council, whose members are appointed by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology. Suggestions from university leaders and students were not considered in the appointment of members.

We note with regret that SZFE leaders and students did not take advantage of the opportunity to negotiate, which was offered on many occasions, and the foundation, as before, is ready to negotiate with SZFE students and teachers.

– the board of directors also wrote in its statement. Gábor Németh, the resigned rector of the university in connection with the negotiations, is British television channelHe claimed that they could not have been created just because the university learned about the basic issues from the press.

The board also added that the foundation has adopted the basic concepts of the strategy for the development of SZFE, which it would like to finalize together with the professors and students of the university, as well as the profession of Hungarian theater and cinema. They close their ad with:

The foundation is committed to renewing the work of SZFE, making the 155-year-old university of the Hungarian theater and film profession with a respectable tradition better, more transparent and more modern.

The former editorial office of index.hu has essentially ceased to exist, the country has lost its most read online interface. This is one of the most serious blows to the independent Hungarian press and freedom of information to date. The number of independent power editorial boards is steadily decreasing, and those that still exist are trying to stay afloat in a growing headwind. At HVG, we persevere, not giving in to pressure to bring in national and international news every day.

That is why we ask you, our readers, to support us, support us, join our membership and renew it!

And we promise to keep doing our best for you in all circumstances!
