Belgium has declared Hungary a high-risk country, classified in red in terms of the coronavirus epidemic, which means that non-essential travel to Hungary is prohibited, according to information published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry, Belgium requires mandatory quarantine and virus testing for those who come from high-risk countries.

According to the Belgian-language news portal The Brussels Times, those who return to or enter Belgium within 48 hours of the publication of the updated classification are subject to the obligations of the previous classification for the country of departure of their trip. However, virus testing and voluntary home quarantine are also recommended.

In addition to Hungary, the list of countries with high epidemiological risk includes certain regions of Andorra, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Spain and Great Britain, as well as Denmark, Finland, Malta and Romania.

There are no more classifications in Hungary, if you wish, all countries are in red: a non-Hungarian citizen cannot enter Hungary from 1 September, unless he has a permanent or 90-day residence permit in Hungary ( in which case family members can also enter), if you are an athlete or sports professional if you are a freight forwarder handling cargo, if you are on an official visit, or anyone who can demonstrate that they have contracted Covid -19 in the last six months.

Only V4 countries received discounts, Poles, Slovaks and Czechs can enter Hungary after September 1 with a negative corona virus test no longer than five days, if they have already booked accommodation for September.

The former editorial office of index.hu has essentially ceased to exist, the country has lost its most read online interface. This is one of the most serious blows to the independent Hungarian press and freedom of information to date. The number of independent power editorial boards is steadily decreasing, and those that still exist are trying to stay afloat in a growing headwind. At HVG, we persevere, not giving in to pressure to bring in national and international news every day.

That is why we ask you, our readers, to support us, support us, join our membership and renew it!
