The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 292 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 5,961, writes koronavirus.gov.hu.
The death toll was unchanged at 614 and 3,759 had already recovered.
90 patients with coronavirus are treated in the hospital, 7 of whom are connected to ventilators.
In recent days, the spread of the epidemic has accelerated in Hungary, with new coronavirus infections detected in 158 Hungarian citizens on Saturdays, 132 on Fridays and 91 on Thursdays.
According to the site map, the most infected people have so far been recorded in Budapest (2603) and Pest county (854). It is followed by the counties of Fejér (429), Komárom-Esztergom (328), Zala (283), Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (183), Veszprém (176), Hajdú-Bihar (172) and Csongrád-Csanád (170). The county of Békés is the least affected by the infection (22).
As of September 1, the conditions for entry from abroad will be tightened again, according to the statutes, foreign citizens cannot enter the territory of Hungary, and Hungarian citizens returning from abroad must be subject to a home quarantine official 14 days. Due to the upcoming start of classes, the responsibilities of parents and educators are paramount; a sick and symptomatic child should not be able to go to school or kindergarten now.
