Wizz Air will significantly reduce the number of flights due to the border closure, the airline said Saturday night. The company had already indicated a few hours earlier that it would be forced to cancel due to the government measure that would be introduced as of September 1, and subsequently reported its details in a statement. According to them, Wizz will reduce its capacity on flights to Budapest and Debrecen to a lesser extent between September 1 and 6 to allow Hungarian passengers to return home from holiday destinations. Then, between September 7 and 30, a greater degree of flight reduction is expected, leaving only the most sought-after destinations available to passengers.

As the ad shows, September 7-30. Wizz Air will operate flights from Debrecen in one direction between then: two flights a week to London Luton. There are two weekly flights from Budapest to Stockholm, Paris, Brussels to Charleroi, Basel, Milan, Athens, Dortmund and Berlin, seven to London Luton, five to Eindhoven and one to Malta and Larnaca each. No machine starts in the other directions.

At the same time, they are reminded that for compensation for cancellations (100 percent refund or 120 percent credit to the company), buyers should contact the company from which they purchased the ticket. So if someone did it at a travel agency, so be it. It was also confirmed that in case someone is unable to fly due to travel restrictions while their flight is operating on a schedule, they can cancel the ticket and be entitled to a refund for a cancellation fee. It is important that passengers have the responsibility to be aware of the restrictions, as they are responsible even if the rules to enter each country change between the date of purchase and the date of travel, the discount airline emphasized in a statement.

The former editorial office of index.hu has essentially ceased to exist, the country has lost its most read online interface. This is one of the most serious blows to the independent Hungarian press and freedom of information to date. The number of independent power editorial boards is steadily declining, and those that still exist are trying to stay afloat in a growing headwind.
