Life could return to normal after the coronavirus crisis in the summer of next year, thanks to progress in vaccine development and increasingly rapid testing methods, he said at a press conference. Sebastian Kurz Chancellor of Austria.

The year 2020 has brought unprecedented challenges, but little by little we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The crisis caused by the epidemic is likely to last less than various experts originally predicted, the MTI said in a report.

Kurz noted that only a proven and safe vaccine against coronavirus will be used in Austria and that vaccination will not be mandatory.

The Austrian chancellor warned that there will still be difficulties in the coming months as classes begin, people will spend more time indoors due to the colder weather and the usual seasonal flu pandemic should also be expected. In these circumstances, it is necessary to be prepared for a sudden increase in the number of coronavirus diseases again.

Constant change is to be expected, according to Kurz: there will be restrictions and mitigations. The Austrian government will endeavor to give people the greatest possible freedom in the framework of measures against the epidemic and to introduce only the restrictions that are absolutely necessary.
