The activity of the deputy mayor replacing Csaba Balogh is considered a pseudo-representation. The mayor also appealed against the second 30-day suspension.

The court annulled the first suspension of the mayor Csaba Balogh, mayor of Göd, by the House of Representatives, the momentary politician announced this Friday on his community page. The mayor appealed after a majority of representatives from DK, LMP, Jobbik and Fidesz suspended him from his post for two weeks on July 31. Once expired, the board extended the two-week suspension on August 12 for another 30 days. Balogh a By standard said in a statement:

the court agreed with his objection that the reason for his suspension was both procedural and conceptual.

The shooters argued that Balogh had committed crimes while working, but the disciplinary investigation into the matter was not completed until the vote on the suspension took place.

The mayor also noted that the annulment meant that the court had retroactively overturned his suspension. Say,

the activity of the deputy mayor Zoltán Fülöp, who was acting mayor during this period, is considered a pseudo-representation.

In practice, this means that Balogh will have to look back at the decisions made in the two weeks in question and accept or reject them.

Balogh also appealed to the court for his second suspension, now for 30 days.

The former editorial office of index.hu has essentially ceased to exist, the country has lost its most read online interface. This is one of the most serious blows to the independent Hungarian press and freedom of information to date. The number of independent power editorial boards is steadily declining, and those that still exist are trying to stay afloat in a growing headwind. At HVG, we persevere, not giving in to pressure to bring in national and international news every day.

The mayor of Göd, Csaba Balogh, will certainly not leave voluntarily, and the disintegrated opposition will not support the new elections. According to the LMP deputy mayor, the local government is quite functional with the mayor suspended, and the recently resigned DK representative sees that Fidesz would save if elected.

According to a local Median poll, public opinion was also divided into three parts, but quite differently from that of the municipality. Pro-government MPs and the mayor have real support, but even large numbers of voters from their own party have backed DK and right-wing MPs who turned against the mayor. The relative majority, however, is made up of those who remain incomprehensible in the face of events.
