The VirusRadar application can be used to find out who is close to a confirmed coronavirus infection.

Coronavirus pandemic

The number of people infected with the coronavirus in the world already exceeds four million, almost three hundred thousand have lost their lives to the disease and the economic impact of the epidemic is invaluable. The spread of the epidemic is already slowing in several countries, restrictions have been eased in several places. We try to inform our readers about everything, stay with us, read our series of articles.

The application is used twice voluntarily: on the one hand, it must be decided to download, and on the other hand, the infected user voluntarily sends his data to the epidemiological authorities, emphasized Tamás Schanda, Parliamentary and Strategic Secretary of State for Innovation and Technology.

According to him, if many people will use the application, identified infected people will be able to know who they were close to in the previous two weeks, at a distance of two meters, for at least 20 minutes. In this way, the contact with the interested parties can be contacted, and the isolation test according to the epidemiological protocols and procedures becomes objective.

The ministry is asking everyone to download and start using VirusRadar along with their favorite apps, as the more people using the app, the more cases will be able to be warned of possible infections in time, further reducing epidemiological risks. According to the Secretary of State, the application does not store the phone numbers of those who came into contact with the infected person on the device, the authority can only receive information about it with their consent.

Currently, the application can be downloaded to Android phones from the Play Store. An active Bluetooth connection is required for it to work. The iPhone version is promised to be released later.
