A XIII. The district police headquarters was patrolling Margaret Island with two police officers on Monday morning when they saw a girl in the water holding onto her boat and asking for help. Sergeant Major Anett Gyöngyösi Veress and Ensign György Mátrai immediately rushed to help the troubled girl, police next to her said.
György Mátrai swam towards the Danube for the girl, who was floating in the water about 50 meters from the shore. The patrol also grounded the 17-year-old athlete and his boat.
The young woman was training with her boat as she sank into the water under previously unclear circumstances. The completely frozen schoolgirl was put in the service car by the police and the XIII. They took him to the district police headquarters, where they gave him hot tea and then informed him of his parents.
Budapest Police Chief Tamás Terdik awarded the two policemen recognition and rewards out of turn.
