Hévíz has reopened, hundreds of people have bathed in the healing lake over the weekend, and the private accommodation has already received domestic guests, the city’s mayor said at Monday’s press conference, writes MTI.

Gábor Papp said that thanks to the relaxation that had been in place for a week, the lake’s bath in Hévíz opened on Saturday, to which hundreds, mostly Hungarians, had bought tickets in the past two days. For now, you can only swim in the lake, and a maximum of 750 guests can be accommodated at a time to meet health and safety regulations.

National Medical Director Cecília Müller said at a press conference of operational staff on May 7 that the outdoor areas of rural beaches and resorts could be reopened after official permission and an on-site inspection, but that the distance staff should also be observed in these places,

which in pools means four square feet of water per person.

The operator must accommodate the specified number of guests. Showers, locker rooms and other service rooms can also be used when in a building that belongs to the beach, but they must be disinfected more frequently, every hour, and the access clock must be disinfected after each use.

Müller also said that, for the time being, the use of circulating water pools, called “fill-empty” and medicinal water pools, as well as “elements of aerosol experience” is allowed. You cannot use indoor baths or indoor pools, nor can you use indoor sauna, steam baths, and hot tubs or slides.
