Regarding the wage subsidy, Schanda said that according to data on Friday, 3,953 employers applied for it, for 54,000 workers. The number of requests has increased tenfold in one week, and government agencies decide on requests within 8 business days.
Most of the requests, every four, come from Budapest and Pest County. Hajdú-Bihar County is the second, but Bács-Kiskun is also outstanding.
In terms of sectoral distribution, 30% came from commerce, 13.5% from manufacturing and 13% from lodging and food service activities.
60% of the companies requesting assistance are micro, 26% small, 10% medium and 4% large. Most of the workers affected by the aid came from larger companies.
The secretary of state said the wage subsidy can be used if employers cannot employ the full-time employee. When working hours drop below 50%, they can receive benefits of up to 100,000 per month, and those who stay above 50% can apply for a maximum of 75,000 HUF.
Schanda highlighted research and innovation companies, where it had the support of 5,900 researchers and engineers, and companies are asked to continue research and development, because competitiveness will be important in post-crisis recovery.
