Croatia suffers enormous economic damage due to the decrease in tourism. In May, there were already many tourists on the Adriatic coast, but now the resorts are extinct, the cafes and restaurants are closed, writes Euronews.

Tourism revenues represent almost 20 percent of the country’s GDP. Half of the 20 million tourists visiting Croatia tend to arrive in July and August, so this year’s season could be saved somewhat if the epidemic slows and restrictions are eased. The Croatian-Slovenian border is scheduled to open on June 1, can be read on the portal.

The head of the Istrian tourism office, Denis Ivosevic, says that the apartments can only accommodate two or 4 people, making it easy to follow the rules for distance.

There are 2,125 coronavirus infections in Croatia, 86 of which died from the disease.
