Most took to the streets of Stuttgart, in southwestern Germany, with minor movements in Berlin, Munich, and Frankfurt. In Stuttgart, thousands marched along the Cannstatter Wasen on the banks of the Neckar River, where festivals are often held. A police spokesman said many people participated in the movement, but most of the participants adhered to the precautions. Official estimates put the number of protesters at a maximum of ten thousand. Stuttgart also protested against the restrictions last weekend.

Movements have also been regular in Berlin in recent weeks, although protests have moved much smaller crowds. On Saturday in the German capital, the police detained about 30 people for not complying with distance and hygiene standards in front of the German Parliament building (Reichstag). Authorities called out loud to protesters to abide by the rules. Alexanderplatz, which was once so busy, was also taken over by protesters in an unannounced movement. Police also used pepper spray against protesters. Up to fifty events are currently allowed in Berlin.
