This SoC is the first HiSilicon chip to use the Mali-G77 graphics accelerator (according to AnandTech in the MP8 configuration), the Kirin 990 uses the Mali-G76, and the Kirin 820 uses the Mali-G57. Also unusual, though not unprecedented, is Huawei’s 1 + 3 + 4 processor core mapping: one scaled to 1.58 GHz and three fast 2.4 GHz cores from the Cortex-A76, and four Cortex-A55 1.84 GHz units. Even more interesting is the first result of the performance test, although not everyone considers that AnTuTu has authority.
