A coronavirus was detected in a two-year-old boy in Sátoraljaújhely, RTL Klub Híradó revealed on Sunday. The hospital’s pediatric ward was closed, even on Wednesday. Until now, all that was known was that he was a minor patient, the mayor did not say his age.

The RTL Club knows that the boy was examined for croup by the hospital’s only pediatrician, while he was infected. The boy was transported to Nyíregyháza hospital in an ambulance. The doctor and the two nurses were quarantined but were wearing protective gear, so their test was negative.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources, the parents did not follow the instructions of the GP: instead of calling an ambulance, they took the boy to the hospital.

With this, she was the youngest known patient at home, a seven-year-old girl who had been previously diagnosed with the disease and left the Semmelweis Clinic after recovery.
