There was also a grenade and a cannon charge between them.

Nearly 80 different explosive devices, presumably from a World War II firing range, were found in Buda, the 1st Hungarian Army Fire and Warships Regiment said on its Facebook page on Friday. Special projectiles were recently found during earthworks in XII. Csörsz street district.

Soldiers identified 10.5-centimeter-diameter German shrapnel grenades, Hungarian 10-centimeter cumulative grenades and cumulative grenades, and 10.5-centimeter-diameter destroyer grenades, also Hungarian-made, at the scene. Several Spengpatrone Z-type cannon barrel explosive charges for the 10.5 cm gun have also been found in the area. The latter could be used by combatant soldiers to destroy their own artillery equipment in case they had to leave their firing point in no time.

The explosives were in transportable condition, so the soldiers took them to the central collection point of the Hungarian Armed Forces for subsequent destruction. It was not necessary to impose civil restrictions during the firefighting operation.
