444: General practitioner hospitalization ordered in Nyíregyháza

In Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, the government office began assigning GPs with the appropriate specialist examination to the András Jósa hospital in Nyíregyháza, regardless of age, within 24 hours, writes 444.

The newspaper knows from various sources that the teaching hospital, which is responsible for coronavirus patients in the county as the so-called primary epidemiologist, did not have enough doctors assigned to intensive care units or to treat coronavirus patients. The document notes that many of the affected GPs are at risk: More than half of the GPs in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County are over 60 years old and several of them are battling chronic diseases.

According to 444 reports, the staffing problems at the county hospital are so severe that the Covid ward already has psychiatrists and orthopedic doctors, and more GPs can now join.
