Vaccination against the coronavirus could begin in the US on December 11, citing MTI Moncef Slaoui, one of the main leaders of the government-organized vaccination campaign.
Slaoui told CNN that the mass vaccination could begin within 24 hours after the license, that is, on December 11 or 12. New York-based Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech filed an application for authorization with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday. According to The New York Times, the FDA plans to study the application for three weeks, after which it will be reviewed by independent experts, with its meeting scheduled for December 10.
Pfizer will be able to deliver vaccines to vaccination sites within 24 hours of authorization. The drug multiplex is expected to produce at least 50 million doses of vaccine this year and 1.3 billion in 2021. In the United States, there were 12,102,101 confirmed infections, 255,953 deaths, and 4,529,700 recoveries on Sunday night.
Slaoui also spoke about the fact that, in May, so many people (70 percent of the population) could be vaccinated to build the immunity of the flocks in the country and return life to normal. CNN cites a new Gallup poll according to which 58 percent of Americans would vaccinate themselves if a free vaccine approved by the FDA, the US Drug Administration, were available.
