After Indian Railways announced its plans to gradually restart passenger train operations, passenger reservation of tickets will also resume. However, tickets can only be booked through the IRCTC website as the reservation facility is not yet available at the rail counters, Indian Railways said in a statement released Sunday night. The reservation counters will remain closed. The railroads also said that counter tickets, which include platform tickets, will not be issued yet. The reservation of trains to select 15 routes will begin at 4 pm on May 11, the Indian Railways also said.
“Only passengers with confirmed valid tickets will be able to enter the railway stations. Passengers will be required to cover their faces and undergo a check-out, and only asymptomatic passengers will be able to board the train. More details, including the train schedule will be issued separately in due course, “the statement added.

Based on the trainers available after booking 20,000 trainers for coronavirus care centers and the adequate number of trainers reserved to allow the operation of up to 300 trains every day as a “Shramik Special” for stranded migrants, the Railways would begin more special services in new routes.
India has been under a national blockade since March 25 to fight the coronavirus. The running of the bulls is expected to be lifted on May 17. Since the closure began, passenger train services have been suspended, excluding coronavirus care centers and migrant workers.
