A week after authorities confirmed Rivera’s drowning death, Morris, who first joined Rivera on the set of the 2009 musical comedy series Fox and remained her close friend, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram. . In it, Morris danced and sang with Rivera’s “Radio Silence”.
Morris said he was sharing the “very personal” tribute, and wrote: “Mourning looks very different from everyone … but one thing is certain: I have felt that it is difficult to feel joy or deal when I mourn without thinking that you are not honoring that person or you are forgetting him. “
It was Morris’s husband, Taylor Hubbell, who reminded him “that honoring someone can mean that you are enjoying your life FOR THEM”.
“I reached 1 million followers in these last few weeks and at first I was resentful that I gained them from a tragedy, but after breathing … I realized that everyone surrounded me with love and support.” wrote “That I just saw you angels wrapping your wings around me”.
He ended by saying that he decided to celebrate the milestone of social networks by sharing “a tribute to @nayarivera with his music and voice that will be my favorite forever.”

After Rivera’s death was confirmed, Rivera shared a sweet photographic tribute saying he felt Rivera “was still here with me.” He also shared a little idea of their friendship, saying they had a play date scheduled for their children last week. (Rivera left behind her 4-year-old son Josey; Morris is the mother of two children, including her son Owen, who is the same age.)
Morris also wrote about how Rivera always told her that she looked “so skinny” when he saw her, noting that Rivera said he liked to make others feel good about themselves. Morris also spoke about how Rivera’s favorite drink was a martini and that she was a closet smoker, but no one knew because Rivera was a “mastermind to hide it.”
