A family in North Carolina is aware of two tragedies after the husband and wife died just minutes after the months-long battle with the novel coronavirus.

Johnny Lee Peoples, 67, and his wife Kathy Darlene Peoples, 65, according to their joint statement, Sept. at Novent Health Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Died in Covid-19 on the 2nd.

The couple had been battling coronavirus for 30 days when they were put in a room for a final goodbye, their surviving son Shane Peoples said.

“Everything just went south, everything went bad,” he told WBTV. “The next day [medical staff] Putting them in the same room, in the same ICU room, they put their hands together, the nurses gathered around and they passed each other within four minutes. “

“They’ve been married for 48 years, 50 together, they’ve been together for 50 years,” Shane said of his parents.

Johnny, both from North Carolina, is a U.S. citizen. Was a sergeant in the Army and worked for the NC Department of Corrections and Kathy worked as a teacher assistant at Salisbury Academy and a lab technician at Labcorp, according to a trib online tribute.

In his attitude, Johnny was described by his relatives as a man who “loved coaching youth sports, playing music and building a family tree,” while Kathy’s interests included crafting, listening to music and playing cards.

Their loved ones said in tribute that the pair both enjoy fishing and “spending quality time with family and friends.”

Johnny and Kathy are survived by their three children, nine grandchildren and numerous relatives. They have also survived by their favorite poodles, Sammy and Macy.

“Mommy and Daddy’s life was stolen by a virus that many people joke about on a daily basis or directly believe that it is some kind of storm. Both took the epidemic seriously and still fell ill, still dead …” Shane said on Facebook Paid personal tribute. “My parents were not only a blessing to me, my brother, my sister, our spouses and children. They were a blessing to everyone they met.”

“They both loved their family very much and did anything and did everything they could possibly do for them.” “I had some pretty horrible parents.”
