Hilaria Baldwin has accused critics of making “false representations” amid allegations that she spent years pretending to be Spanish.
Speaking in a New York Times interview on Wednesday, she was born in Boston, not Spain, and was named Hillary, after Baldwin addressed the controversy surrounding her legacy.

Baldwin told the New York Times that she is bilingual and that her English often has a strong Spanish accent on her depending on how happy or upset she is.
Baldwin, who has five children with 30 rock star Alec, said: “Today we have the opportunity to clarify for those who are confused – and people who are confused in some ways by misrepresenting me.”
Baldwin said she was born Hillary, but changed her name to Hillary because her family in Spain told her to. He said his parents, who are American, love Spain and took him on vacation there from an early age.
He said, “The things I have shared about myself are very clear. “I was born in Boston. I spent time in Boston and Spain. My family now lives in Spain. ”
Baldwin did not say how often or how long he lived in the country, adding: “I think it would be crazy to have such a timeline for everything. You know, sometimes school was involved. Sometimes it was vacation. It was such a mix, mishmash, is that the right word? Like a mix of different things. ”
Baldwin married 62-year-old Alec in 2012. He defended it amid controversy, sharing a quote on Instagram: “When the truth plays in his shoes, lies can travel all over the world.”
Comedian Amy Schumer was seen mocking Baldwin’s revelation when she shared a video of herself in a big sun hat and wrote: “I got it. I went to Spain many times and liked it very much. ”
She also included a cucumber emoji.
