Starting Friday, customers will serve their drinks in one of four new festive cups. The annual celebration is designed to drum up the excitement for the coffee chain. Starbucks said this year’s theme, “Carrie Mary,” will be written on two cups.
“Our idea behind the cup this year was to take them into the world as messengers of joy,” Jeff Wilkson, Starbucks’ creative director, said in a press release. He added that he wanted to make customer orders as short as possible so that they could look forward.
This year’s seasonal drinks include Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulee Late, Chestnut Prelin Late and Agnog Late in addition to its Christian blend coffee. It will also offer a number of seasonal foods, including the new Cranberry Berry Orange Scone, Sugar Plum Cheese Danish and Snowman Cookie and Cake Pop.
The chain forms a term for its cups and box boxes: ‘Chairsin’, which he describes as ‘a playful combination of cheers and dunkin’, symbolizing coming together in both celebration and appreciation. “
