BioWare revealed a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Dragon Age game on Thursday at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live stream. This included a look at some concept art, an interview with developers about the project, and an idea of some of the larger themes in the game’s story.
There was not much information in the back of the screens, but we learned that the next Dragon Age will focus on events if you do not have access to power, and if the responsible people do not address the world problems.
As much as this is concept art and animations in a gray room test environment, it’s clear that the next Dragon Age is still in early development. It is surprising that behind the scenes after the title is still so obscure and obscure; it seems that BioWare is not yet ready to open up a lot in the way of story details like gameplay systems. It came across a bit like a college ad for the concept of BioWare games, talking about the philosophers of big picture design and of of favorite aspects of the Dragon Age franchise instead of every particular detail of the next game.
The next Dragon Age was unveiled for the first time at The Game Awards in 2018 with the tagline “The Dread Wolf Rises”, along with images of Inquisition antagonist Solas. The latest title from Dragon Age, Dragon Age: Inquisition, was released in 2014.
