Here are the 16 ‘Destiny 2’ Exotics and 12 Catalysts that will need to move beyond the light

We all know that a lot of the fates and loot will be gone this fall, but while a lot is going down at sunset or pushed into the Destiny Content Vault, there is one kind of team that will have to move, rather than disappear entirely. .

That would be exotic, and presumably their catalysts, which Bungie has said will move to new locations after the destinations they’re tied to disappear.

I’ve used Today’s Destiny’s extremely useful Content Vault page to count them, and as far as I can tell, there are 16 Exotics and 12 Catalysts linked to disappearing Destinations. There is a kind of range here. A quest can only graze one of the planets, rather than that area being comprehensive, such as finding a lighthouse on Titan for the Last Word Quest when the primary quest is on the Tangled Coast, so it may stay . But some are entirely Linked to things that are going to go away, like the 100% Mars-based Sleeper Simulant quest, or any of the exotic raids. So those will have to move, either heading to Rahool with the new encryption system, to Xur, to being a random drop from the world, or to having their search completely redesigned.

So what is the list? Here we go, depending on the location.

Titan

  • Rat king
  • Ace of spades
  • The last word
  • Thorn
  • Outbreak Prime (Zero Hour is on Earth, but this quest is linked to Titan before that)
  • Catalyst: Outbreak Prime

Io

  • Whisper of the worm
  • Izanagi’s burden
  • (Thorn and The Last Word also have steps here)
  • Catalyst: worm whisper

Mars

  • Polar lance
  • Sleeper Simulant
  • Worldline zero
  • Lumina
  • Catalyst: Polaris Lance, Sleeper, Lumina, Worldline Zero

Leviathan raids and lairs

  • Legend of acrio
  • Catalyst: Legend of Acrius, Skyburner’s Oath, Sleeper Simulant, Telesto

Menagerie and tribute

  • Bad Juju
  • True
  • Catalyst: Bad Juju, the load of Izanagi

Crown of pain

Scourge of the past

So there you have it, it’s a lot.

Again, we don’t know how many of these will definitely move, as for some of them missions could be tweaked a bit and stay where they are. But others will clearly need homes like Whisper and exotic forays. I hope they at least do something hard to come by instead of just throwing them into the global group or Rahool’s encryption system. I wouldn’t mind if Anarchy entered Last Wish or Tarrabah entered Garden of Salvation with the same bad luck, random drop protection they have now. The catalysts? Everyone can likely become world drops, because God knows we need more of those.

We will see what Bungie does with all this, and I hope to know more about this situation soon. Stay tuned.
