Henry Cavill teases Zack Snyder’s version of the Justice League – Variety

One of the most anticipated movies of 2021 is not new. Last month, director Zack Snyder announced that he would be releasing a recut version of the 2017 superhero movie “Justice League” for HBO Max.

“Justice League”, a mix of superheroes with Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller) Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), suffered terrible reviews and disappointing box office receipts when it opened in theaters.

Snyder, who directed two previous box office hits for Warner Bros. DC Comics – “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” – had to leave “Justice League” in the post-screening due to a family tragedy. . As a result, Joss Whedon (who made 2012’s “Avengers” and his 2015 sequel “Avengers: Age of Ultron”) was hired to finish the film, and fans blamed the directors’ competitive visions and styles for the curiousness of the movie.

In an interview for VarietyPatrick Stewart asked Cavill what, if anything, he could say about the reissued film.

“Okay, I have a question for you, Henry,” said Stewart. “What can you tell me about the Snyder cut?”

“Oh, the Snyder cut, the famous heart attack, cut down, all kinds of things,” Cavill said. “I really can’t tell you anything other than the fact that all I know is that HBO Max will release it, I think, and it will be Zack’s final vision for the movie, and I don’t know anything more than that.

“I am really happy that Zack realized his vision,” Cavill continued. “I think it is important that a filmmaker and a narrator have the foreseen vision and show it to the world, and I hope to see it myself. It was quite an ordeal.

Stewart asked Cavill to explain. “With ‘Justice League’ when it came, there was a mix of visions and the film was not well received,” said Cavill. “And then in the years that followed, there was a huge push to see the legendary Snyder Cut. And now the time has come, and I think it will be a lot of fun to see Zack finally release his version. “
