Halo Infinite 2 won’t happen, says 343 Industries

Bungie, the studio that Halo created, is obsessed with number seven. That’s why there are seven Halo rings, for example, and references to it can be found in many other places in both Halo and Destiny. But with 343 Industries and Microsoft now in control of Halo’s future, it seems like Bungie will never have a chance to see “Halo 7” on a store shelf. This is because 343 is treating this holiday’s flagship Xbox Series X launch title, Halo Infinite, as “the beginning of our platform for the future.” IGN spoke to Chris Lee, director of Halo Infinite Studio, before the highly anticipated Halo Infinite reveal on Xbox. Games showcase. During that conversation, Lee revealed that Infinite is the latest independent release of the franchise for the foreseeable future.

“Halo Infinite is the beginning of our platform for the future,” he said. “We want Infinite to grow over time, instead of going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before. It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the beginning of the next ten years for Halo and then building it as we go along with our fans and the community. “

This does not mean that Halo Infinite is a live service game, to Destiny. But it does mean that new story experiences will be told under the Infinite umbrella, and it also means that Infinite will evolve technologically for quite some time. 343 confirmed that Infinite will receive a free ray tracing update sometime after launch. As for the gameplay, hopefully the move to Infinite as a platform doesn’t mean gamers are stuck in this Halo ring forever, but we’ll have to wait and see what 343 in the Xbox Series X generation has to offer us to find out. .For more information on Halo Infinite, check out our exclusive conversation with Lee and Crocker, including details on the open world of the Xbox X Series main release title and its new weapons and updates, the first information on its villain and story, and why Infinite is trying to be a great starting point for new Halo players.
