Hades is coming to Nintendo Switch, complete with cross-save

During Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase on Tuesday, Supergiant Games announced their plans to release Hades to the Switch this fall. Fans who already have Hades can also transfer their progress with cross-save.

Hades, stands on early access, takes place in the Greek underworld. Players take on Zagreus, the son of Mr. Hades himself, while trying to emancipate himself from his overbearing father by escaping to hell. Zagreus enlists the help of his aunts and uncles – other gods in the Greek pantheon – to defeat and escape ancient monsters.

Hades is a roguelike, which means that players keep some progress after each run. After each failed attempt to escape hell, Zagreus ends up back in Hades’ room. Once home, Zagreus can spend resources on new upgrades, which improves the chances that he will escape in the next run. Between runes, Supergiant’s usual narrative focus also emerges, as Zagreus chats with old friends and hangs new characters in Hades’ halls.

Supergiant did not provide a specific date Hades on Switch, but announced plans to release it this fall. It is unclear at this time if or when Hades will come to other consoles.
