‘GTA: San Andreas’ has been redone with stunning photorealistic graphics

Despite the immense popularity of the years 2004 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, developer Rockstar Games is highly unlikely to be in a rush to redo it. After all, there is still a lot of money to be made by bringing Grand Theft Auto V to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X … and presumably to all future consoles from now until the end of time.

If Rockstar won’t remake San Andreas, all that most of us can do is dream. However, some of us have enough talent to recreate the epic of the open world in Unreal Engine 4 and give us a substantial insight into what the game would be like if it were released for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

As you can see below (or through this link), the result is … glorious.

Let’s remove the bad news before continuing. This project, as beautiful as it is, is no interpretable. It is simply the dedicated work of three incredibly talented fans who wanted to use Unreal Engine 4 to put together an idea of what San Andreas It might seem like it was remastered.

ArcadiaSquad is a “team of three people who like to create amazing audiovisual stuff,” according to their Patreon. “Our focus for now is Rockstar games, like Grand Theft Auto, but with an unprecedented quality perspective. We have a simple philosophy: quality over quantity.”

Rockstar could certainly release this as an official preview and I don’t think many of us will blink. The quality of the textures, the lighting and the clouds are really something. I am particularly impressed by the quality of the water, and the way it really reflects light as it glides smoothly against the shore.

If you want to see more of ArcadiaSquad, you may consider throwing them a few bucks on their aforementioned Patreon. I have to emphasize again that this was the job of three people, so let them know how much you enjoyed what they put together.

Meanwhile, the channel directs fans to a San Andreas remake that is being designed in such a way that fans should be able to play it … eventually. It seems like these are very early stages for the project, but you can head to the GTA SA with the proper name in UE4 for consistent updates on how that project is being formed. Spoiler: It looks absolutely fantastic.
