THE LATEST: Schools in Oregon will not reopen until state sees substantial decay of coronavirus, says governor
Gov. Kate Brown held a press conference Friday to discuss Oregon’s latest efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus. She was joined by representatives of the Oregon Health Authority.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown published new guidance last Friday that requires employees to wear face masks or face shields in private as well as public office spaces.
New state leadership released last week also required increased use of masks at childcare facilities. The new guidance on face covering comes at the same time as the Occupational Safety and Health Department (Oregon OSHA) is working on adopting a new temporary rule to ensure safety on the workplace amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Brown on Thursday scrapped her list of counties struggling to contain coronavirus. She added Jackson County to her so-called ‘watchlist’ which serves as a precursor to aggressive action, such as restoring business restrictions or guidance at home. They removed Counties from Wasco and Marion, who had been on the list since July 3 and 30.
Brown announced Wednesday that she would lift Friday’s manual and what business restrictions in Umatilla County would be effective.
