The FCC has published documents related to an interactive media streaming device and a more generic Google wireless device. At least one of the two devices could be part of the next gen-push for Android TV, centered around a device named “Sabrina.”

The streaming device, which came to the FCC identified as GZRNL, seems to run on Bluetooth, as well as 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. All substantial information such as internal or external images is subject to confidentiality, but we do have an image of where Google will place its mandated FCC ID label.

Which does not help us much if this one is what we expect Sabrina to look like:

The wireless device, which goes under G9N9N, uses only Bluetooth. The FCC ID label is placed under “the power cover in a location that is not removable by user.”

All of these indications indicate that we may have the complementary wireless distance of Sabrina on our hands:

In the US, radio equipment must be tested for radio frequency recording and these tests must be approved by the FCC Office of Engineering and Technology. So, if these devices are what they are, consider it an important step towards revealing a renewed Android TV experience.

But finally, though, maybe we should wait until a full-fledged Made by Google hardware keynote arrives late next month or early October.
