Google has provided students – and their parents – with some useful tools to make home study a lot easier. Back in May, it launched an augmented reality feature within Search that lets you view 3D anatomical models and cellular structures. And soon the tech giant will help you solve math problems by simply taking a picture of them with Google Lens.
The company uses technology from the mobile learning app Socratic, which it acquired last year, to deliver the upcoming Lens feature. When it comes down to it, all you have to do is snap a picture of your study material and then mark an equation as a particular problem that you can not solve to get quick access to step-by-step guides and detailed explanations. The idea is to make it easy to look up mathematical concepts that give you problems, because you need to be able to understand them in order to apply them. Google did not say when the Lens feature will roll out, but Socratic itself is available as standalone apps for iOS and Android.
