Gold Glove winners are the top five in the Dodgers’ Mookie Bets.

Musi Bates made a spectacular play after the stunning play in the postseason – including two home robberies and a major catch of a sinking liner in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series – it should come as no surprise that Bates National League is the Gold Glove winner for the right field. In his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Bett won his fifth consecutive Gold Glove Award after winning four with the Boston Red Sox.

While the postseason drama didn’t lead to awards, Datsby Swanson’s line drive in the third inning was able to save Bates ’catch game – and the Dodgers season. Already leading the series 1-1, the Braves took a 2-0 lead over the runners-up in second and third, and Marcel Ozuna refused to give up a third base early when the Bates defeated them. The catch kept the game close and the Dodgers rallied to win 7-3.

“Incredible game by an incredible player in the big moment,” said teammate Corey Caesar. “You need to win baseball games this year.”

The two players are third in all of the 11 defensive saves, just behind Nolan Arenado’s 15 and Joy Gallo’s 12 and are tied with Byron Buxton. Arenado won his eighth consecutive Gold Glove on third base – he has played in eight major seasons. Gallo is known for his noble home runs, but for the first time in his career he got his first gold glove after going full field right on a full-time basis.

This year’s Gold Gloves was based solely on a collection of defensive metrics known as the SABR Defensive Index, which combines several methods of statistically estimating defensive performance. Due to the MLB’s regional schedule this season, managers and coaches, usually a part of the final component, did not vote.

Other recurring winners:

The Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (fourth overall) and the Cardinals’ second baseman Colton Wong (second overall) were the winners in the National League. The Cardinals surprisingly didn’t choose Wong’s .5 12.5 million team option for 2021, so he takes his gold glove to free agency. Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart also won his second gold glove after winning in 2017.

In the American League, Indians favorite Roberto Perez had his second straight win and left-fielder Alex Gord of the Royals had his eighth consecutive career win. Gotten, who announced his retirement, became the sixth player to win a Gold Glove in his final season (pitchers Greg Maddox, Mike Mussina and Bobby Shantz; outfielder Roberto Clemente; and first baseman Weiss Parker). Gordon is one of the greatest defensive left fielders of his career. Based on total zone fielding runs, the estimated defensive measure that dates back to 1953, Gordon only saves runs in the careers of Barry Bonds and Carl Yastrozeski.

White Sox Center fielder Lewis Robert defeated Buxton, and the first baseman of the Manners, Evan White, paired up with two-time winner Matt Olson, becoming the first rookie winner since Arenado in 2013. Cubs shortstop J. Javier Base, known for his fielding wizardry. In the plate in 2020 but in the end he won the first gold glove by defeating Swanson who led all the shortstops in the DRS.
