Giants to air “Blue-White Scrimmage Special” presented by Quest Diagnostics on NBC 4 New York

NEW YORK, NY – (21 August 2020) – The wait is definitely over. Big Blue football is back – and NBC 4 New York is home to all the action. The station and the New York Giants announced two special inside looks at the team’s Blue-White Scrimmage, which airs Saturday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. ET and Friday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. ET. The “Giants Blue-White Scrimmage Special” is presented by Quest Diagnostics, a Proud Partner in Health of the New York Giants. The app will also be available on-demand through Giants.com, the Giants Mobile App, and on the Giants YouTube page after completing each original broadcast.

“In these unique times, we are constantly looking for ways to engage Giants fans and give them more access to the organization,” said Giants Chief Commercial Officer Pete Guelli. “This scrimmage special will give them a close look at how Coach Judge and this staff prepared the team for the upcoming season.”

“This is the first in-depth opportunity for Giants fans to see their team in action,” said Eric Lerner, president and general manager of NBC 4 New York. “Our two unique broadcast specials offer an exclusive look ahead to the upcoming season, with final field preparations and interviews with Head Coach Judge, along with many of the team’s brightest stars.”

Bob Papa, the Giants’ voice, and Super Bowl champions Carl Banks and Shaun O’Hara will host the “Giants Blue-White Scrimmage Special”, starring NBC 4 New York sports anchor Bruce Beck as a special participant. The 60-minute look-in will feature head coach Joe Judge and will capture the best moments, highlights and sounds from the sidelines and include interviews with general manager Dave Gettleman, director of college scouting Chris Pettit and post-scrimmage interviews with Giants players.

Held at MetLife Stadium, intrasquad scrimmage will be a first of its kind for the Giants in recent history. Judge took the opportunity to “let our boys play at full speed”, as they prepared for the 2020 season at an unusual time in sports.

“This will look a lot like any high school and college audits in America,” said Giants head coach Joe Judge. “Offensive on the one hand, defensive on the other. We’ll create situations on the field and let them play live football all the way. We need to get a chance to let our boys play at full speed. Let them go out and experience the game and demonstrate that they can serve if coaches do not shout in their ears and try to make corrections. We just have to get them out and let them play. “
