Giancarlo Esposito could still be better known as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better call Saul. But thanks in large part to The Mandalorian, the actor’s actions are certainly increasing in the geek community. It’s no wonder some fans want me to play an iconic DC supervillain in an upcoming movie. However, according to the man himself, Esposito could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Phase 4 of the MCU will likely feature the next Thanos
With Avengers Endgame After years of storytelling have ended, the MCU is certainly in a period of transition. As fans and heroes adjust, the franchise reboots a bit. Phase 4, for example, seeks to introduce several new characters.
Meanwhile, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) are likely to become the older Avengers. Alongside this new era of Marvel storytelling, the MCU is sure to set up its next epic villain in Phase 4.
After all, Thanos came on the scene in a half-credit scene from The Avengers several years before it became a direct threat. Fans already have their theories as to which character could serve as an ongoing villain. Regardless, Esposito’s reach and talent make him ideal for anything from Doctor Doom to Kang the Conqueror.

Of course, Esposito is widely known for playing villains. Most of his most memorable roles, especially lately, are a testament to that. Could he enter the MCU as Spider-Man’s old foe, Norman Osborn, aka the Green Goblin or even the voice of Galactus? If Marvel wants Esposito, it seems like all they have to do is ask.
“There have been all these rumors about being with Marvel. I want to work with those guys. I’ve brought it out into the world, “said Esposito Entertainment tonight. Although the actor said he did not start the rumors, he confesses that he wants to “do something lasting” in the MCU. Also, consider the MCU “to be the next step for [him]” in this point.

But some fans want to see the actor play a certain mutant hero.
Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom, and other villain roles are, of course, some of the most discussed by Esposito fans. But others expect him to join the MCU X Men franchise. “Dude could do anything, but I pray to see him as Magneto,” one fan tweeted.
In fact, Marvel is rumored to want a person of color like Magneto. And the villain is a possible addition to the MCU. But while Esposito might be a memorable villain, some MCU fans would rather see a different side of him. In fact, the actor could end up leading, not opposing, the X-Men.
