In preparation for its continued support to the government in the fight against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has organized a fleet and equipment.

The one-day exhibition program, held in Accra’s Independence Square on Monday, was on the theme; “Make Ghana safer and healthier.”
It was intended to demonstrate the readiness of Zoomlion and his partners to continue the battle against the virus.

The company’s fleet of disinfection equipment and a parade of some military and police officers were exhibited.

The equipment included 50 sprayers, 10 street sweepers, 5,000 motorized spray machines, 5,000 backpack sprayers, 100 drones, and 5,000 portable thermal foggers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zoomlion Ghana Limited (ZGL) Managing Director (MD) Madam Gloria Anti assured the government of her team’s continued support in the country’s quest to curb the pandemic.

According to her, Zoomlion had purchased state-of-the-art modern machinery to carry out disinfection and fumigation activities aimed at fighting the virus in the country.

She said that with the machinery purchased, the company was ready to help the government deal with the virus.

“As part of our commitment to support the government in fighting vectors, an association has been formed. The association, the Ghana Vector and Pest Association (PEVAG) will support the government in treating vectors that cause disease in any form. that they can, “he emphasized. .

Madam Anti took the opportunity to praise the stakeholders who supported earlier phases of the national fumigation and disinfection exercises.

He noted that without the support of stakeholders, the exercise would not have been successful.

Zoomlion MD further revealed that in addition to their modern machinery, they also have a workforce that was capable of performing whatever exercises were assigned to it.

“We also have a workforce of seven thousand (7,000) who are well trained to perform disinfection and fumigation operations.

As part of measures to ensure that the school environment is safe for pupils and students returning to school this month, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ordered that all schools be disinfected and fumigated.
In this regard, the next phase of disinfection to pave the way for the reopening is expected to begin this week, where schools across the country would be disinfected by Zoomlion and its partners in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

The exercise is expected to be completed before the reopening date of January 15, 2021.
