President Akufo-Addo has urged the public to continue to adhere to the Covid-19 security protocols as it is the safest way to completely defeat the disease.

During his eighteenth address to the nation since the onset of the pandemic, President Akufo-Addo implored Ghanaians to take care of each other, as being each other’s guardian would help the nation reach its goal of zero positive cases of Covid-19.

“I have said before, let us continue to take care of each other, and continue to be each other’s guardians, and I am confident that by doing so, we will be victorious in the fight against Covid-19.

“The objective must be zero active cases, and I have no doubt that, together, and with God’s help, this will also happen, because the Battle is still the Lord’s.

The president stated that currently, “the outlook for our battle against Covid-19 remains optimistic,” for which he thanked God and the people of Ghana.

However, he considers that “it is important that we maintain this positive position, especially a few weeks before the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7”.

Although the country’s fight against the virus has been highly successful, Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians to maintain strict adherence to protocols.

“So I urge all of you, my Ghanaian compatriots, to continue to adhere to the strict hygiene, mask use and social distancing protocols that have become part of our daily routine,” he said.

“I have no doubt that, together, and with the help of God, this will also happen, because the Battle continues to belong to the Lord,” he concluded.
