Former National Security Coordinator of the previous government of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Larry Gbevlo Lartey, has denied claims by legislator Assin Central to threaten the peace of Ghana.
Kennedy Agyapong on Net2TV told Colonel Gbevlo Lartey to desist from any action that undermines the peace of the country.
He said he has a leaked audio recording of Gbevlo Lartey who allegedly plans to disturb the peace of the country, but that he and the PNP will not stand by and watch the NDC plunge the country into a state of chaos.
“Try anything fun in this country and let’s see who dies first.”
But in a Facebook post addressing issues related to leaked audio and Kennedy Agyapong’s claims that he wants to throw the country in turmoil, Colonel Gbevlo Lartey said that’s not his style.
For him, he believes in following the constitutional means of seeking justice and that is what the NDC seeks to do in its fight against the stolen verdict.
He denied having knowledge of said audio that read “Mischief! For the avoidance of doubt, I have not posted any voice clips. That naughty voice clip circulating with someone singing and threatening is not mine. That is not me, it is absolutely not my style, it is not my position or my choice of words ”.
“In any case, I sing better than that. My commitment to help ensure that the elections are not stolen by any of the contending parties has better and honorable forms of expression in accordance with the law. Equity and credibility in Sene West, Techiman South, Sefwi Wiawso, Esikado-Ketan, etc. in my mind. We have come such a long way as not to let ourselves be intimidated or petrified by any threat: a citizen and not a spectator ”, he added.
