Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the NDC’s running mate for the 2020 elections, says the well-being of the young and the old is central to the party people’s manifesto.
He said the policies and programs in the NDC manifesto are geared towards equipping young people with the technical and vocational skills necessary for them to create employment and improve their living conditions.
Addressing party supporters in the Obuasi West constituency, as part of her six-day campaign tour of the Ashanti region, Professor Opoku-Agyemang said the next NDC government will work to transform the country for the benefit of everybody.
He said that the policy consists of developing policies and programs that help improve the socioeconomic life of the people and discourages the policy of insults that could create violence in the country.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang appealed to the electorate to vote for the NDC’s return to power to continue its good policies outlined in the people’s manifesto to transform their lives.
Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, National President of the NDC said that the next NDC government would establish a Minerals Board to regulate and supervise the operations of small-scale mining activities for the benefit of all.
“The NDC party will support small-scale mining to get young people interested in the business to improve their lot and their family,” adding that the NDC government would make arrangements to secure a concession for small miners to secure their smooth operations.
Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo said that the NDC had carried out more development projects in the Ashanti region than the NPP, and challenged the NPP to participate in a political debate to find out who had done more for the people of Ashanti.
