Residents in the Krachi West Township of the Oti region can now breathe a sigh of relief as construction work begins on all roads in the area.

The development follows years of neglect that has left all major roads in a deplorable state.

“Now, after all these years, we can also boast of paved roads in our cities and we are very happy,” one resident told JoyNews.

The 10 km project being carried out by First Sky Construction Group is expected to be completed in 12 months.

The information available also indicates that other roads within the municipality will be upgraded with bituminous surface coating.

Touching on the project, First Sky Construction Limited group president Dr. Eric Seddy Klutotse said that the construction of the roads will open the municipality to economic activities.

For his part, Krachi West municipal executive director Douglas Osei Nti said he was optimistic that contractors will complete the project within the estimated timeframe.

According to him, the administration led by the nuclear power plant has brought a lot of development to the region, hence the need to give the Akufo-Addo government four more years to continue with its development projects.
