Dozens of merchants and clerks of the new Kejetia and Central Markets on Tuesday morning harassed the Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when he stormed the arena to campaign for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

As early as 9 am, President Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who was sitting in a Toyota pickup, stormed the two adjoining markets in great style.

Sharing T-shirts and anti-COVID-19 items such as hand sanitizers and nasal masks while sitting on top of the van, the regional president caught the attention of merchants for 3 hours.

Later, in a meeting with market leaders at the Kejetia Arena, President Wontumi asked that they take charge of the campaign in the markets, as they witnessed the good works of the president.

In cataloging the achievements of the New Patriotic Party, President Wontumi said that the PNP has delivered on the promises it made to the people of Ghana in 2016.

He said that if it hadn’t been for the free upper secondary school policy, many parents would have had a hard time bringing their children to SHS.

He said that the introduction of the policy of a district, a factory was also a way to create jobs for the unemployed in the country.

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCo), President Wontumi noted, has also been put in place to provide opportunities for people who have completed tertiary education but are out of work.

The policy of planting for food and employment, stressed the regional president, has brought so much food to the country’s markets and has also created jobs for people who have the desire to work on farms.

Accompanied by the regional women’s organizer, Nana Ama Ampomah and the regional organizer, Francis Adomako, as well as the executive director of the Youth Employment Agency, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the regional president took some time to educate traders on how cast your votes on December 7.

REPRESENTATIVE OF KEJETIA TRADERS:

Nana Akwasi Prempeh, speaking on behalf of Kejetia Traders and market leaders expressed her gratitude to the nuclear power plant for finding them worth visiting.

He urged the team to run their campaign in the arena whenever they want.

Theirs, he said, is to see a peaceful atmosphere to conduct business in the market.

He called on leaders to ensure that markets are provided with adequate security and protection at all times so that their business activities are incident free.
