Wilmar Africa introduces two quality local rice brands to the market

Wilmar Africa Limited Rice has launched two new brands of tasty and quality local rice in Ghana to support local rice farmers.

The brands, namely Fortune Emo Pa Local Rice and Viking Emo Local Rice, will provide Ghanaians with alternatives and bring some exciting innovations to the local rice industry.

Both brands consist of premium jasmine rice grown in the Volta region and will bring more variety to rice consumers in Ghana.

Wilmar is also the manufacturer of Frytol cooking oil and rice producers Fortune and Viking.

“With the needs of Ghanaians in mind when it comes to local rice, Wilmar Africa has endeavored to grind the local Fortune and Viking rice brands in the best rice mill in Ghana to deliver unmatched quality and taste.” states a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency. in Accra, he said.

Speaking at the Fortune and Viking local rice launch, Mr. Kwame Wiafe, Wilmar General Manager, said: “Wilmar Africa is venturing into local rice to support and continue the development of rice cultivation in Ghana with the aim of boost domestic rice production, create more jobs to promote self-sufficiency and improve the economy as imports are reduced. “

“The Fortune and Viking brands will be available in all regions starting today. With our existing industry experience, we assure our consumers a well-packaged and tasty local jasmine rice with the highest grade on the market, ”he said.

Mr. Kwame Wiafe added: “The rice sector remains highly viable, for this reason we have ventured into local production to support local farmers and also make rice cultivation more attractive to existing farmers and aspiring “.

Rice, he said, is not only a food crop, it also has the potential to make significant contributions to the national economy.

Therefore, he urged Ghanaians to sponsor the local Fortune rice and Viking Emo Pa.
