There have been rumors in recent years that Lionel Messi could move to the United States in the future to play in MLS, something that he himself confirmed during a recent interview with Jordi Evole.

Following the departure of Luis Suárez to Atlético de Madrid, the two players would have planned to join forces again in the USA, with Inter Miami being the leader to reunite them on the field again.

According to Catalunya Radio, Messi and Suárez are willing to be part of the same team again and Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham, seems to be the ideal destination.

In the aforementioned interview with Jordi Evole for LaSexta, the Barcelona captain expressed his willingness to exercise his trade in the United States in the future.

“I always said I would like to experience the United States league, but not yet,” Messi said.

Suárez has already been linked to Inter Miami, but the Uruguayan international decided last summer to continue a few more years in Europe.

His contract with Atlético ends in 2022, when he will turn 35, and Messi’s contract with Barcelona runs until next June.

Although the Argentine’s future at the Blaugrana remains uncertain, Messi has stressed that he is willing to play elite football for a few more seasons.

Following recent reports on his joint plans with Suarez, the Barcelona captain could seek a move to MLS in 2022 or even 2023.
