The police arrested one of the lawyers for some of the suspects in the case of the secessionists from western Togo.
Police say Dennis Seyram Benson is a “fake attorney” and hence the arrest.
According to police, Dennis Seyram Benson, who is introducing himself as a lawyer, has been representing some of the suspects since the inception of the case.
The Police, in a statement dated Thursday, December 17, 2020, signed and issued by the Chief of Public Affairs of the Department of Criminal Investigations (CID), said DSP Juliana Obeng, Mr. Seyram Benson’s conduct in court raised suspicions which led to a background check. who revealed he was a bogus attorney.
He said the 42-year-old is assisting police with investigations.
