Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey says Atlético de Madrid players will get used to keeping their distance in training.

The Rojiblanco players were photographed returning to training on Saturday for the first time since the coronavirus crisis caused a premature halt in LaLiga.

Diego Simeone and his players began preparations for the restart of the campaign at the Club Atlético de Madrid Ciudad Deporutiba complex after Spain relaxed blocking measures across the country earlier this week.

The snapshots, released by the club, show multiple players staying away from each other while working hard to maintain their fitness levels, with some even choosing to put on face masks and gloves for the session.

Partey, who was found in a positive spirit before the return of high-flying action, insists that they will get used to their new training habit.

“It was different,” the Ghanaian admitted after completing his session on Saturday.

“At first we suffered a bit because we are not used to training and keeping distance [between each other], but we will get used to it. “

Under normal circumstances, players only face prolonged spells without seeing each other while enjoying their summer vacation, but Thomas recognized that things are very different this time.

“We are used to being on vacation, training and playing with friends,” he added.

“But we could only stay home, so it was difficult.”

“However, due to the situation, we had to get used to it.”

“We had to keep training at home as much as we could.”

“The problem is that we have not been able to touch the ball and play in groups, but we know that we have to progress little by little towards normality.”
