Ashanti Gold SC assistant coach Thomas Duah says the team will go to Burkina Faso to beat Salitas FC in order to reserve qualification for the next phase of the CAF Confederations Cup.
In the preliminary phase of the 2020/2021 CAF Confederations Cup competition, the Ghanaian giants have faced the whole of Burkina Faso.
In the opening match of the two-game tie on Sunday afternoon, Ashanti Gold SC were unable to capitalize on home advantage by drawing scoreless against Salitas FC at the end of 90 minutes at Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Despite what seems like a setback, Ashgold’s assistant coach Thomas Duah says the team will get the necessary result in the reverse match.
“We were unlucky yesterday, so we drew yesterday against Salitas FC, but I can say that we will surely qualify in Burkina Faso in the second leg. Although they are a good team, their strength is their midfield. We couldn’t risk it, that’s why we tied yesterday ”, said the coach in an interview with Hot FM.
Coach Thomas Duah has assured all Ashanti Gold SC fans that the team will surely win the reverse match in Burkina Faso.
“Football is about fans, if the fans were in the stadium, the shouting can even help us get at least one goal yesterday at Len Clay Stadium yesterday. We assure all Ashgold fans that it is 100% that they will go to Burkina Faso against Salitas FC, ”added the gaffer.
